AID increases licensure 66% under Kerr

LITTLE ROCK – Arkansas Insurance Commissioner Allen Kerr today released the following statement announcing that the Arkansas Insurance Department has 145,185 licensed insurance producers and adjusters at the start of 2020, a 66.1% increase since becoming Commissioner in January 2015:

“It has been an honor to implement Governor Asa Hutchinson’s ‘open for business’ vision at the Arkansas Insurance Department over the last five years—which has resulted in 57,355 new licensed insurance producers and 3,248 new licensed insurance businesses in our state since 2015. I am very proud of the work our team has done to make the licensure process more efficient here in Arkansas, especially as we move to completely online licensing in 2020.”

The 145,185 licensed insurance producers and adjustors at the end of 2019 is an increase over the 135,291 at the end of 2018. The 20,436 resident licenses in 2019 is a slight decrease from the 20,560 a year ago.

Licensed business entities rose by 492 in 2019, eclipsing the 10,000-mark for the first time with 10,215 at year’s end.

Since the end of 2014, the amount of licensed business entities has increased 36.6%.
